9/23/12: Emily is a sweet but slightly unsure girl. She prefers outside near in nice weather. She has a lot of potential but it may take a little time to help her reach it since she was pretty sheltered her whole life.

We will be working on getting her use to walking on leash, car rides, going on outsings and other things she needs to become accustomed to. She is good with other dogs, including small ones and with cats, as she shared space with both. She has grown up with children.

Emily was just 8 weeks old when first adopted from Ozark Dogs back in Oct. 2006. She and her brother Custard had to be returned. The litter had come from a very bad situation, but despite a rough start, she looks great all grown up. She is Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix. Because of her horrid condition when rescued in 2006 as a barely weaned puppy, she has not grown near as large as average. She stands about 27" and weighs 65 pounds.

Ozark Dogs Rescue only adopts to companion homes where the dog will have inside privileges. A 6' fence is usually required but there are exceptions. There is an application process which often includes a visit to your home. Adoption donations vary and may be flexible. Our primary goal is to find the very best home for each dog.
