6/24/10:: Zelda was listed for adoption when we got her in 2006 and had a lot of applicants. A few were
good, but before Zelda ever got to meet the people, outside forces
interrupted the adoptions. We decided it best just to let her stay.
She has had a number of health issues and continues to 'complain' but
neither the vet and bunches of tests we can determine the problem. Zelda is one of the least demanding, but most appreciative dogs I've known. Her typical day: I often find her on the floor blocking a doorway. After some attention, she goes out and 'patrols' the property. When I announce breakfast, she comes running, long hair rippling in the breeze and a smile on her face. It makes me smile every time I see it. It never gets old and always fills my heart with happiness. After breakfast, she lays where she can watch me and sticks inside the house most of the time. She makes random patrols around the property between naps. If we have left for awhile, upon our return she comes running to greet us at the gate when she sees our car coming down the road. Again, hair rippling, a happy bounce in her canter and a big smile on her face. In the evening when
we go to bed, she comes lays down by the bed. After she thinks we are
asleep, she quietly goes out and is on patrol all night long. Interestingly,
I rarely hear her bark and when I do, it is very soft, unlike my other Pyrs
and Anatolians who think they are a tripped alarm. |
