11/1/11: This delightful hound was one of so many 'throw away dogs'
picked up by animal control. She was pregnant, gave birth to 9
puppies, 6 of which survived. Then they were pulled off her at
5 weeks so she could be euthanized because "she had been there too
long". This logic made no sense. She didn't have a
chance. Now she does, but this is only a stop over to a
forever home.
She is still a bit nervous and unsure but starting to trust.
She really needs a home quickly because (1) I want her to bond only
once and it with her forever family and (2) I do not have an
adequate situation for an extra dog in winter. She would be
overwhelmed sharing the house with 11 dogs all well over twice her
size.
She weighs 40 pounds and is not very tall. She is about 4
years old. |
