Update: 5/12/07
From her 'mommy': My sweet girl left us yesterday morning, she was
13! There is so much I am going to miss about her, but i know she is in a
better place. I loved her so much.
I know Sugar (LSC/Dela) touched some of you and others never had the chance
to met her. I want to thank Carol of Ozark Dogs for making this wonderful
page for her. I hope you don't mind me sharing it, it was something I
visited often! Thank you!
Dogs as sweet as Sugar don't deserve to have to go through what this family
put her through and I pray they are stopped! I am so glad I was able to
spoil her in the last year of her life! She deserved this and more!!
Take care and give your loved ones (2 and 4 legged) hugs and kisses!!
Jenn

I read with sorrow the news about your very sad loss. I never had the joy
of meeting your sweet girl, but appreciated reading the many comments
about Sugar, learning something about her heartbreaking past, and greatly
enjoyed her wonderful photos.
I am particularly fond of her birthday photo, with her tiara and blue
feather boa. How could anyone look at that picture and not smile and feel
warm inside.
In
spite of your grief, I am sure you are grateful for the time you had with
her, and find some degree of comfort in knowing what a difference you made
in her life.
Like the rest of the people on this forum who know, all too well, the
heartache of losing a much loved Pyr, I will keep you, your family, and,
of course, your beloved Sugar, in my thoughts and prayers.
We
Remember Them
In the rising of the sun and
in its going down,
We remember them;
In the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter,
We remember them;
In the opening of the buds and in the warmth of summer,
We remember them;
In the rustling of leaves and the beauty of autumn,
We remember them;
In the beginning of the year and when it ends,
We remember them;
When we are weary and in need of strength,
We remember them;
When we are lost and sick of heart,
We remember them;
When we have joys we yearn to share,
We remember them;
So long as we live, they too shall live,
For they are now a part of us, as
We remember them.

My heart is both heavy and lifted.
I knew about Della/Sugar when she was stolen by Tammy Hanson. We worked
hard to find her and then Tammy left with her and others and it was more
than two years later when we found out where Tammy had gone. Then, all heck
broke loose with Gamalia, Arkansas and the horrors of that place.
Sugar knew she was loved by all of us - I have no doubt of that. She
especially knew the love you gave her, Jenn.
Sugar was unwavering in her determination to Live - in spite of all the
obstacles put in her path. Her picture surely must be in the Webster
dictionery under the word Hope. Her path became smooth once again when she
joined your family, Jenn. She was able to exit this little pebble called
Earth with her head and heart high on Love as the true lady she was.
Now, she is in a better place and better time. She has become OUR Guardian
Angel - rather than we all being hers. I know she is very happy with that.
I can feel her presence and her love. We won't walk alone - she will be
there for us every step of the way as we tried to be for her.
SUGAR LOVES US! It does get any better than that!!!!
Thank you, Jenn.

From Carol: I remember the first day saw Sugar. She was way
in the back of the property in filthy pen. Her foot was so swollen and
we said we would pay for the vet bills if they would please have it looked
at. The court had not decided where the law stood in this situation so she
just had to suffer. Months went by and finally the dogs were legally able to
be moved. One of the Pyrs died and I just knew it had been Sugar.
When I learned so many many months later that she was alive and doing well I
cried again, this time for happiness. I cry again because although I
never saw her again after that first week, she was always in the back of my
mind. What a fighter to have survived...and what a blessing that she
ended up with someone like Jenn.
My deepest condolences to all, but especially to Jenn. Sugar will
always be a great reminder that no matter how down we are, there is hope for
a better tomorrow. You will be missed.
